Wisdom Whispers Review: How Bible Study Changed My Life

God works in my life in ways that sometimes I don’t expect. You see His timing is always perfect. All I have to do is wait. Today’s post is something different but I want to tell you how God used Bible study and social media to bring me closer to Him.

One day I was feeling really down and discouraged and happened to come across a post on Instagram by Sarah Koontz. It was just what I needed at the right time. Her feed was jam-packed full of encouragement and uplifting photos that point to Jesus.

Since that day, I have been following her and God keeps using her in my life. So I signed up for her SOULfood weekly emails.

God kept bringing me closer to Him through the word and Sarah’s weekly encouraging and inspirational emails.

Fast forward a few months and she was getting ready to release her second free online Bible study on the book of Ephesians. So I decided to sign up to help her launch it. There were many different reasons why I chose to be a part of it. You see God’s timing was perfect once again. Right as I was reading the Worthy of the Calling study I was still going through a rough time. It came just at the right time.

Let me back up a little bit. Last summer I was going through a very difficult time. My mom was dealing with cancer and I felt like was dragging me down. I was tired and worn out. I was taking care of my mom, my own health issues, and still trying to balance life and work.

I continued to attend church but my personal Bible study time was suffering. I mean it was pretty much open Bible and read when at church and that’s pretty much it. If I was lucky I would read the verse of the day on the You Version app.

Honestly, I was struggling to make my quiet time a priority. Don’t get me wrong, I tried multiple Bible studies but kept falling behind or losing interest. So when I came across the announcement for her Worthy of the Calling Bible study and how it would only take 10-15 minutes a day I was sold. Let me tell you it changed my quiet time.

Sarah’s free Bible studies are packed full of truth in manageable bite-size pieces.

Now we fast forward a few more months and as I kept getting to know Sarah and watch God work in her life I was super excited when she launched her non-profit organization Living by Designs Ministries.

When I saw her post about volunteering for this ministry I prayed about it a lot. I mean a lot. I finally got the go-ahead from God to apply as a volunteer. I left it up to God. If it was meant to be then God would make a way for it to happen. In my mind, it would be an honor to work with Sarah after she has blessed me so much when I was going through a rough patch. Well, God’s timing was perfect and right and I am happy to say I was accepted.

Now you are probably wondering what this all has to do with Bible study but I’m getting to that.

Sarah is releasing her third free online Bible Study “Wisdom Whispers” on April 2nd. This is the last week to pre-register. Once again I am helping her launch it but I wanted to give you a few reasons why I think you should consider joining.

wisdom whispers pinnable 2.pngWisdom Whispers is a 31-day free study in the format of five days on, two days off. The study is on the life and wisdom of King Solomon. I love this format because the two days off are a nice break to rest or catch up if you get behind.

As I was reading through the study one quote that stuck out to me was this:

God’s ways are always the best ways -Sarah Koontz: Wisdom Whispers Bible Study

You see as I have been learning through Bible study and my Jesus time it’s so true. His timing and ways are always the best at the perfect time.

I really encourage you to sign up for this study. It can change your life. One thing that I get asked a lot is how do you have time for Bible study? Well, I know you are just as busy as I am but here are a few reasons this makes this study unique and amazing.

  1. It is delivered in email form right to your inbox each day.
  2. It only takes about 10-15 minutes a day to complete.
  3. There are amazing free digital gifts that go along with the study.
  4. All you need is your mobile device.

If you pre-register you will also be signed up to receive her weekly SOULfood emails as well. I promise you that you will be blessed by them.

So grab a few of your friends and sign up today! I can’t wait for you dig deeper into the Word with Wisdom Whispers.

While I am a part of Living by Designs Ministries this post is my own opinion and I’m not being compensated for reviewing this study. I wouldn’t review or recommend anything that I didn’t wholeheartedly believe in.

I believe in this! I hope you will join me!

The Fear is Real but God is Bigger

Last weeks blog post I was very transparent with you all. I must say it was way out of my comfort zone. I’m always afraid of what people think and fear is something I struggle with. I’ve always been one who struggled a lot with all kinds of different fears. Fear of the unknown. Fear of the past. Fear of what people would think, etc.

There’s so much that is happening in the world right now that the news is full of tragic events. From stories of school shootings to police officers killed and all this violence, it makes one fearful for their lives.

I’ve seen post after posts on facebook from friends who are terrified to go out in public for fear some psycho shoots them. I can totally understand the thought and fear of something bad happening.

Click to Pin: The fear is real but God is bigger than your fear!

We can’t let this fear dictate our lives. Do we think about it, yes but we can’t let it consume us. This world is full of evil and although we don’t understand we need to shine our light as Christ followers. Now don’t get me wrong. I think about something happening when I leave the house or go to a concert or movie or public events even church but I know that God is with me.

The Bible says “For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.” 2 Timothy 1:7 (NLT)

I have been reading the book Fervent with my friend Courtney and last week the chapter talked about fear. She wrote a blog post on it and as part of her book club. It’s been a great book so far on prayer and I have been learning so much. There were some questions that she asked at the end of her post that I felt prompted to answer and share with you.

  • Are there things in your life that God has called you to do that you have been too afraid to do?

In short YES! There have been several things that I felt that I should’ve done but was too afraid to do them. There were times when I got asked to lead a small group at church but I turned it down because I was too afraid. I know that there are probably other things as well that God has called me to do but I was afraid. It just is something I think we all have dealt with at one time or another.

  • What might you be missing out on if you don’t walk in the will of God-even when you’re afraid?

This is a hard question. WOW! I would honestly answer this one if I could but unfortunately, I can’t. I want to think that I would miss out on the blessings and satisfaction of bringing glory to God and others closer to Him. Also, I think I’d be missing out on a deeper relationship on a personal level with Him as well as a more intentional prayer life.

  • Do you see any opportunities in your own life that you have missed because you were too afraid to take the leap?

Yes, absolutely I do! It’s something that I struggle with and kick myself for.

There’s a saying that if you aren’t willing to do what God asks because you are afraid then He will find someone else to use.

One in particular one was at church. I didn’t follow back up with it after I approached them with an idea and so it went to someone else. Although I am still a part of that project I missed out on the opportunities because of being afraid and full of fear.

  • What steps can you take in your own life right now to combat fear and conquer what scares you?

Pray! That is the first thing that comes to my mind. Ask God to help you combat this fear and not let it win or scare you. Second, ask a friend, mentor, family member, someone you trust to pray for you and help you as you work through this. Ask them for guidance. Last, JUST DO IT! I know that’s easier said than done but if you don’t go for it then you never will.

My parents and several friends have told me this time and time again and it’s a piece of advice I’d like to pass on to you.

God is going to use you. He called you and He will equip you. If you don’t answer that call and step out in faith than He will use someone else.

This is such an awesome piece of advice. It’s something that will live on in my heart as I continue to grow in my faith and walk with Jesus.

As I am ending this post I want to ask and leave you with this question.

Are you afraid of what you He has called you to do? or are you afraid of what you can’t do? How can I pray for you to overcome fear? Leave me a comment or send me a message on any social media accounts. I’d love to be praying for you.

Blessings, Grace Mae ❤

  10. Micron Pen Set  These pens are the best ones I have found for writing in my Bible. I personally don’t own this set I linked to but I know that they will work. They don’t bleed through the Bible pages and leave little to almost no ghosting on the back side. However be aware that there is a semi imprint on the back side if you press too hard. Otherwise, I love these pens so much. That doesn’t bother me so I use them anyways.
